Immunostaining for APP (A,D; green) using rabbit-anti-APP and mouse-anti-LC3 (B,E; red) performed in either WT (A,B) or WR (D,E) motor neurons in cervical spinal cord (42 d.p.n.). Note a similar number of autophagosomes in B and E (arrowheads). Arrows in D indicates large APP-positive vesicles. Merged images in C and F demonstrate that APP and LC3 are localised to distinct vesicles in degenerating motor neurons. Bar in A, valid for A-E, 10 μm.
