Expression of HSP60 and COX IV proteins in XY and XX neurons upon exposure to OGD followed by reoxygenation for indicated times. Western immunoblotting for HSP60 (60 kDa) and COX IV (17 kDa) were performed using total cellular extracts prepared from normoxia and OGD reoxygenation exposed XY and XX CGN cultures. Blots were restriped and immuno-labeled for β-actin, which also served as loading control. An increased expression of (A) HSP60 and (B) COX IV were observed in XY as compared to XX CGNs.
