Illustration of projection method. The two end points of the nasal cut (N1,N2) are connected by a line, the centre of which is defined as the nasal pole (N). The same procedure is repeated on the temporal side, and the nasal (N) and temporal (T) poles are connected by a line (NT). The centre of the injection site (marked in red) is projected onto the nasotemporal axis, and the fraction of the distance is calculated as \(|\mathrm {NA}|/|\mathrm {NT}|\), where \(|\mathrm {NA}|\) is distance between N and A, and \(|\mathrm {NT}|\) is distance between N and T.
